The plan is to arrive at Bridlington on the afternoon of Friday the 22nd of March, then I’ll be heading up to Thornwick Bay at Flamborough. I’m taking my one man tent with my winter camping gear. Once I get pitched up and everything squared away I’ll be having a walk along the cliffs on Flamborough head, spotting locations for my first shoot, which will be later that evening, before sunset. I’ll be hanging about till after sunset.
There are plenty of well known and well photographed landmarks to be going at, these include the Drinking Dinosaur rock formation, the lighthouse and much more. So I should be spoiled for choice!
My second shoot will be on Saturday morning, I’ll be leaving my tent around 0430hrs, which will give me plenty of time to get set up ready for the sunrise. I’ll hang around till mid morning and then head back to the campsite for some food, a shower and maybe a pint. I’ll have some spare time during Saturday afternoon, I’ve nothing planned so I’ll play it by ear.
My final shoot will be on early Saturday evening, heading out to the cliffs again in time for sunset. One shot I especially want to capture is with the lighthouse to the left of the frame and the cliffs to the left, hopefully with plenty of interest in the sky. For that shot I’ll be using my ultra wide angle lens.
I return home to Doncaster on Sunday, hopefully with some great shots in the can! I’m really looking forward to it, I’d been planning to do this over the winter but every time I had the chance the weather worked against me.
