This photo of the Elephant’s Trunk Nebula comprises of 120x 4 minute exposures, stacked to produce the final image. I created this photo using my astrophotography kit, which comprises of a William Optics Redcat 61 WIFD telescope, a ZWO ASI585 MC Air astro camera and a Sky Watcher EQ AL55I Pro equatorial mount.
The Elephant’s Trunk Nebula (IC 1396A) is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth.
